Precautions for Using E-Bike Lithium Battery

2024-07-10

The precautions for the use of E-bike lithium battery cover multiple aspects such as charging, use, and storage. Only by following the correct usage methods and precautions can the battery pack be ensured to be safe, stable, and used for a long time.

1. Charging precautions

First charging: E-bike lithium battery has some power remaining before leaving the factory. After the first ride, it is recommended to charge for the first time, and the charging time should be slightly longer.

Timely charging: E-bike lithium battery should be charged in time after use, and it should not be stored with low power.

Charging time: The normal charging time of E-bike lithium battery is 6-8 hours, but overcharging is not recommended. When the charger shows that it is full, the power plug should be unplugged in time to avoid overheating or damage to the battery due to long-term charging.

Charger selection: It must be charged with a matching lithium battery charger, and lead-acid chargers or other forms of chargers must not be used for charging.

Charging environment: In winter, it is recommended to charge the E-bike lithium battery in a place with high ambient temperature to ensure that the battery can be fully charged. At the same time, avoid charging in direct sunlight or humid environments.

2. Precautions for use

Avoid deep discharge: It is not recommended to charge the E-bike lithium battery after riding until the battery can no longer discharge power. It is not recommended to discharge more than 90% of the battery pack capacity. Long-term deep discharge will seriously damage the battery performance and shorten the battery life.

Slow acceleration: When riding, you should accelerate slowly to reduce the impact of large current on the battery, controller and motor. When going uphill, it is recommended to pull or pedal to avoid frequent discharge.

Disconnection: When the E-bike lithium battery is not used for a long time, the battery should be disconnected from the vehicle and the battery should be replenished at intervals to avoid self-discharge of the battery or over-discharge of the battery due to power consumption of the protection board.

Waterproof and moisture-proof: The E-bike lithium battery should be placed in a dry environment and avoid contact with water or fire to avoid short circuit or damage.

Avoid vibration: During riding, avoid violent vibration or bumping of the E-bike lithium battery to avoid damage to the internal structure of the battery.

3. Other precautions

Regular inspection: Regularly check whether the appearance of the E-bike lithium battery is damaged or deformed. If there is any abnormality, it should be handled in time.

Professional maintenance: If the E-bike lithium battery fails or its performance deteriorates, you should contact a professional maintenance person for inspection or replacement in time.

Safe storage: When not in use, the E-bike lithium battery should be stored in a cool, dry, ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and high temperature environment.
